I’ve been doing a lot of research on online marketing for private investigators. I found an article that discussed the importance of having landing pages on a website, but I can’t figure out what landing pages are used for or how they can be used for the private investigation’s industry. Not sure if you can help with that?
A landing page, is a page on your website where a visitor lands after searching for a keyword on Google, they click on a newsletter, click a status update, etc. A landing page’s sole purpose is to capture your visitor’s contact information to help you generate leads. Typically you want to capture a name, e-mail, phone number, and quick message. I say typically, because the other purpose of the landing page is to click through to another page. Click through landing pages are typically used to sell products or services, while lead generation landing pages are used to generate leads.
Landing pages are very powerful if you get them to rank in Google or use them in conjunction to a Google AdWords campaign. A landing page helps you appear “specialized” in a particular topic, or helps your national company appear “local“. Rather than being a jack of all trades across the entire US – you are a Criminal Investigator in Dallas, TX.
In the section to the right (below if you’re on a mobile device) I’ve included a landing page that we did for a client of ours. Patrice is an Orange County private investigator. Notice that her landing page is 100% targeted as a Laguna Niguel Private Investigator instead of Orange County.
The purpose of this is to help clients find her website easier when they’re looking for a Laguna Niguel Private Investigator v/s an Orange County Private Investigator. If she was to target a different area of California, let’s say “Oakley” we would create a landing page targeting Oakley Residents.
We have done similar work for other clients in which we created landing pages in different languages to use in conjunction with AdWord campaigns. Daniel Maya is a Spanish speaking Miami private investigator. When he came to us, he had a Google AdWords campaign that targeted Spanish speakers – he had a high click through ratio, but not many people were being converted because his website was in English.
We designed an entire landing page in Spanish to help convert the people clicking through to his site. We increased their click through ratio, increased their conversions, and helped him increase his company’s bottom line.
Landing pages are not limited to Cities or Languages, they can be used on everything from individual services to owner profiles. The ultimate purpose of the landing page is to help sell whatever service you have.
